Amazing how he just gets the toddler games on the touch interface.

We had a great birthday party in a nearby park with all the grandparents and some friends.

Many months ago, I noticed that Google had marked my site as harmful to computers. I tried a number of different things using my host tools with upgrades, plugin activations and reloads, database deletions, user deletions, etc. All of them either did nothing or broke everything. Dreamhost was fantastic in fixing my stupid mistakes, too in this process, but their online help for fixing hacked sites wasn’t all that helpful.

So, I let it sit. I still use my host as an offsite back up for music and pictures so I figured I was still getting my $10 worth/month.

1) I thought about taking it down, but I have a free domain, so what to do instead?….nothing came to mind that I had time to learn and create.
2) I thought about leaving it…..no, because it looked bad and I needed to stop having Google also flag the blog I was using to do the podcast feed for church that resides under my domain so that iTunes can see it.
3) I thought about deleting it…but no, the site has my memories of a time in my life.

Today, I thought I’d roll up my sleeves and dive in again. I did some Google searches and came up with some complex but straight-forward possibilities for solutions. I began peeking at some of the PHP files in my blog directories at the prompting of the sites.

I recalled that I wrote my own index.php file at one point in order for my blog to direct to top level domain rather than the subfolder it really is in. I decided to see if there was any hacking on there. BINGO!

It was a simple frame code in the HTML that was marked as hidden! The code was an attempt to redirect to a spam site that Google had already flagged, but (I think) because the frame was after the HTML code that directed to my blog, it never really worked but did get flagged by Google’s webcrawler.

So, I think that was it. I’ve deleted the code and submitted a request to Google to reconsider my site. I should know in about a week!

Yesterday we went to a farm with some friends and their kids and let Isaac pick big blueberries. These were larger than the ones at our house. We’ve now determined that blueberries = gas. Gas at night = crying every 5 minutes in the middle of the night.

I got up, and curled him up in my arms until he cried himself to sleep. Then put him in our bed where Katie could rub his tummy when he woke up.

This morning, well, let’s just say that via his potty-time we know the blueberries are no longer a problem.

I don’t really expect anyone to use the call line only because I’m not famous or anything and most people know how to reach me directly. But, since I got an invite to Google Voice, why not use it?

So, Twitter feed is on the left and if you want to follow me with your own Twitter account, click the tweet link and do so. The call line has it’s own page linked at the top, and goes directly to a voicemail and you can choose for your number to be anonymous.

Isaac had an all time high last night of 103.4 degrees. Could be a virus, but this morning it’s hovering around 99 and he’s drooling like crazy. (6 bibs in 4 hours)

So far, every tooth he runs like a little furnace and then he’s fine. Fun times.

Just when you were teetering and tottering your way along and had found out how much it took to balance out your new friend, he/she would jump off and you would crash to the ground. You kept going back though, sort of like a Charlie Brown/Lucy and the football situation.

Well, Isaac is on the other end of the teeter totter. When were teetering and tottering along, everyone is laughing and playing. Then, he decides to jump off and changes the rules, and were off to find a new way to balance. It’s also like trying to balance the joys of parenting vs life.

As I type this, I’m watching my son slowly progress toward melt-down and nap time. You know…the laughing that changes to crying and back again?

Some would say that parenting is life and that’s how they do balance. At this point, I’m not sure what that means. Simply a shift of perspective, or a choice to abandon 75% of your own things? Isaac is a fun and challenging force in our lives right now, and a lot revolves around his schedule, but we still need our time.

Our time for our communication without interruption, our time to make a list, our time to get things done, our time to sleep, our time to simply do our own thing and recharge as introverts do.

Just when we figured how to “have it all” or at least pretend to, that cute, blond, blue-eyed boy jumps off the teeter totter again and we have to table everything until we learn what he’s learning/doing in order to balance it all out again.

Parenting is fun, it’s a big challenge, and 98.34% of the time, his smile when he sees us watching him, will make it all better.
